Harmaline
Michael Stecky, Canada, digital animation, 5 min., 2004

Harmaline is one of the ingredients of ‘ayahuasca’, a South American indigenous drink with hallucinatory properties used in shamanistic practices. This video animation is a digital suggestion of the mystical and spiritual power inherent in the natural world. – M.S.L

Michael Stecky is a new media artist creating experimental videos, installations, and composing music for film and ensemble. His video work has shown at Mix Brazil 2004, Queer Screen 2005, Sydney, Images 2003, and broadcast on ZED-TV, while his installations have been exhibited throughout Canada.
