 The Child's Garden of Peace reflects three years of work creating a community garden with the children, parents and grandparents of the Bairro Centro Sul neighbourhood in Santo Angelo in the state of Rio Grande do Sul near the border with Argentina.Illène Pevec was born in Brazil, raised in the United States and currently resides in Canada.
She is an arts educator who started the Spirit of Nature Gardens in an inner city Vancouver elementary school. She followed this project with the building of a school and community garden project in Bairro Centro Sul in Santo Angelo in Southern Brazil. Currently she is teaching the youth involved in that project video making skills.
