This is charming naturalistic film about a young boys adventures in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Malkolm loves birds and he is on a quest for the Blue Throat.
Ken Madsen is a renowned photographer and white water paddler. He has devoted the last seven years to protecting the Arctic Refuge. In 2000, Ken was awarded the Northern Conservation Award in recognition of his work to protect the Arctic Refuge. Malkolm the Birder Boy: Quest for the Bluethroat is Ken Madsen’s first film.
Matthew Lien, a resident of the Yukon is a celebrated music composer, recorder and producer. Lien and photographer Madsen have developed the Yukon Wildlands Project and recently the Caribou Commons Project a coalition of environmental and aboriginal representatives dedicated to the protection of Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Canadian Range of the Porcupine River Caribou.
