LOCATION:
NFB Mediatheque 150 John Street
To celebrate Planet In Focus, the National Film Board of Canada Mediatheque will present a special edition of its weekly animation workshop Open House on Sunday, October 2 from 1 - 3 pm.
In this exciting hands-on workshop youth aged 6 – 13 explore the history of animation and use professional tools and techniques from the NFB’s pioneering tradition to create innovative animated films of their own. This week, workshop participants will get involved in the environment, using paper cut-out animation techniques to animate their favourite trees as their leaves change colour for autumn.
Celebrating the festival, both Open House and Can't Sit Still (for ages 3 - 5) are FREE to all aspiring animators on Sunday, October 2.
As a special Planet In Focus feature, workshop creations will be shown on the big screen in the NFB Cinema from 3 – 6 pm! Admission to these screenings is FREE for workshop participants.
Please note that an adult, at no extra charge, must accompany each child. Reservations are recommended. Call 416-973-3012 to reserve.
