NEWS UPDATE

Hello Friends of PIF,

We are off to a great start for 2006!

Call for Submissions

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting submissions for the 2006 Festival. This year our festival will take place November 1–5, 2006. We will also be launching our new Spotlight Program: "Toronto in the Moving Image - from the Dawn of Cinema to the Present," which will feature and celebrate our city as an evolving work in progress through the gaze of the cinematic lens.

Further information and entry forms can be found on our website: www.planetinfocus.org/submissions.php.

AGM

Join us on the first day of Spring - March 21, 2006 - from 5:30pm -7:30pm for our Annual General Meeting at the National Film Board’s John Spotton Theatre, 150 John St. Come learn more about our exciting initiatives for this year.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking for creative and energetic volunteers to join the PIF team. If you have writing, marketing, and design skills, there are opportunities now available on the Marketing Committee. We are also looking for office volunteers to assist us with setting up our archive. Contact us at volunteers@planetinfocus.org – we look forward to having you come on board in the near future.

Bring PIF to a Community Near You

Myan Marcen-Gaudaur is our new part-time Archive and Educational Outreach Officer. Should you wish to book a screening and have PIF programming come to a community near you, please contact her at myan@planetinfocus.org . We look forward to hearing from you.
