Film Awards

The Planet in Focus awards are our way of paying tribute to the efforts of the artists who have participated in this festival and encouraging in their careers producing environmental expressive works. Awards include:

• Best Canadian Long Form
• Best International Short Form
• Best International Long Form Films
• Best Green Pitch
• Mark Haslam Award

The Mark Haslam Award was established in honour of the festival's founder. It is awarded to any drama, animation, documentary or experimental film that has been programmed in the festival that gives voice to individuals, communities, struggles or stories that are under-represented in the media, and made by a filmmaker who is a member or participant in that community, struggle or story. The selected work demonstrates the power to inspire reflection and positive action towards the social and ecological health of the planet.
