The Green Market is the PIF business and sales hub for filmmakers, producers, broadcasters, commissioning editors, distributors and programmers. All PIF 2009 submissions will be available for viewing in this exclusive centre at the Holiday Inn on Bloor.

An age appropriate screening program,presented with a special hands-on animation workshop, facilitated by The National Film Board. The animation workshop will focus on endangered species.

Unique environmental films are selected for Elementary/Junior and High School students and are presented in an enriched program with participating filmmakers, environmentalists, scientists and other specialists. This is a student’s gateway to an environmental view of the planet.

CLOSING NIGHT GALA, FILM AWARDS AND INDUSTRY/MEDIA ECO HERO AWARD

Sunday October 25, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM

Salute our 2009 Industry/Media Eco Hero – The Nature of Things with David Suzuki. Also, the Film Award Winners for Best Canadian Short & Long Form Films and the Best International Short & Long Form Films. The 2009 Mark Haslam Award will also be presented as well on this special evening.

The Awards will be followed by the Closing Night Film Earth Keepers and a reception at the Bata Shoe Museum.

 

LAND & CONFLICT

Presented by Planet in Focus, Voices Forward and the International Diaspora Film Festival

October 24 – November 8, 2009

Land & Conflict is a unique collaboration among three Toronto festivals  that will present artistic works in the medium of film, photography, poetry and music focused on a people and land in contested terrain. Palestinian, Israeli, Bedouin, Burmese and Diasporic viewpoints are represented in a rich panoply of artistic expression.
