Against the Current

The word endangered usually refers to a species but it is rarely applied to people. On the Pacific coast of Vancouver Island, however, the fate of a species and a people appear intertwined. A small tribe called the Uchucklesaht believe that by resurrecting a once-great salmon run, they will save themselves too. Against the Current is a provocative and beautifully constructed documentary of that struggle for survival.
