'AND THE SEA TOOK US' chronicles the devastating effects and wonderful relief efforts in one small fishing village community on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Shot by an American Volunteer, William Prosser, this story is presented in three parts:
1. A brief introduction and overview to the culture and landscape of Sri Lanka ('Before the Tsunami')
2. A quick montage of images of the actual disaster ('During the Tsunami')
3. Interviews with affected local villagers and relief workers, with a primary focus on the relief effort and rebuilding ('After the Tsunami').
The heart of this documentary shows small concentrated work by individuals making a great difference in helping disaster-affected people get back on their feet. Narrated by Michelle Phillips.
