This is a story of the rebirth of the 90km long Ruparel River in the western state of Rajasthan in India. The river had dried up turning the entire belt along the Aravalli Hills into dry stony desert. All the villagers and animals fled except for two women. Then, activists Rajendra Singh came to the region and helped the women dig a small water tank. The monsoons that year filled the pond and slowly the river came alive. The fields turned green and the villagers and herds returned.
