Located just below the Canadian border, the inland waters of the Strait of Georgia is one of the most productive biologic marine ecosystems in the world. Supporting a variety of life from marine vegetation and microscopic phytoplankton to salmon and seals. Atop this foodweb, alongside orcas and seals, are many species of marine birds. During the winter migration over 70 different species of birds can be found in these waters.
Focusing on the results of two marine bird censuses separated by twenty-five years, Losing our Wings looks at the impact the growing human presence is having on the marine bird population and what the results mean to the ecosystems they depend on.
