Four apocalypse survivors are set adrift among the quiet foothills of rural America until the discovery of an abandoned tack house raises the possibility of long-term settlement. When all but one of the group members press on in the search for others, the remaining survivor is forced to beat out isolation through the steadiness of daily routine and the ever more promising remnants of an arcane two-way radio. Norbert Shieh directs in this investigation of the somber realities of survival in a world no longer owing to a sense of time or place. Equal parts cunning, craftsmanship, and meditation, the film is a must-see for alternative cinema audiences everywhere.
