The Petitcodiac River is dying. An ill-conceived causeway blocks its fresh water from reaching the sea and salt water from bathing ancient fish breeding grounds. More silt, garbage and poorly treated sewage accumulate each day. Emaciated ripples have replaced a once mighty tidal bore. Local residents demand the river's revival.
