Papua Versus Us

The earth shrinks. An east German travel group embarks on a trekking tour in the jungle of West Papua. Parts of the globe previously only accessible to expeditions, move, in times of globalisation, ever closer for the adventure traveller and can be booked online. The common goal of this very mixed group is to meet one of the last remaining primitive peoples.

Through conversations with 3 very different personalities from the hospitable Dani and Lani tribes we learn about the thoughts and ways of the people of this virtually untouched part of the world.

Deep within the jungle of West Papua they are still there: The last native peoples of our planet, cut off from civilisation, and with a natural habitat that shrinks by the day.
