The film begins with evoking images to stir the spirit inherent in mountain landscapes. But the picture does not remain so rosey as the current threats facing mountain resort communities in North America are examined, and how the business models of resorts and resort developers are putting the bottom line before community. Several stories give examples fo these practices revelig themselves. But all is not lost, as the film moves into solutions, what programs and startegies are working for communties that are attempting to take control fo the reigns and manifest the destiny that they desire, not the one imposed on them.
