Shift is a response to the thundering Yukon river, an uncontrollable force in the landscape and psyche. The river has determined the pace of Dawson City's Arctic landscape for throusands of years. As the river begins to freeze evertying seems to slow down or speed up to an unstoppable pace. Shift creates a hypnotic tension between motion and stasis, night and day as time begins to distort through digital manipulation and control.
