A few years ago, Ruth Speizer came to visit the old Tel-Aviv neighbourhood where she was born, brining with her a small fortune which she had raised in order to fulfill her own private vision: to transform the neighbourhood into an elite French housing project. Her vision included the preservation of houses, the construction of luxury hotels, and shops filled with elite merchandise. She purchased one historical building after another, evicted tenants, and with the agreement and encouragement of the city's construction engineer, she began to plan the "Nachlat Benyamin Project". It was then that a great protest erupted.
