74-year-old Wang Yimin lives in Tahe County in the Great Xing'an Mountain region of northern Heilongjiang Province. Here, in the north-eastern part of China, and some 1500 kilometres northeast of Beijing, he worries about his 97-year-old mother, Wu huizhen, who shares her quarters with his younger brother in Harbin.
