Termites: Attack of the Killer Echidna
Nick Hilligoss, Australia, 2003
5 minutes, Animation
Eco, the pest controller, combats a nest of termites that are dining on his home. While Eco is out, ridding the world of pests the natural way, a nest of termites are literally eating him out of house and home. This calls for the expert termite eater, the echidna, and not a moment too soon.

Skylight
David Bass, Canada, 2009
5 minutes, Animation

Penguins. Antarctica. Hole in the Ozone. In a serious environmental film, these elements would combine to be a recipe for disaster. Skylight tosses them up with a claymation dressing and serves a film framed by old film-reel crust. The result is a mock documentary that is big on laughs and twisted in perspective. Be careful what you eat by the end. Penguins. Antarctica. Hole in the Ozone. Redefined with possible cataclysmic results for the rest of the world.

Nature on its Course
Su-an Ng, Canada, 2009
3 minutes, Animation/Mixed Media

Nature on its Course is a brilliant mixed-media animation about a careless hunter who takes more than he needs. It is a reminder to viewers to respect their environment and not to underestimate the forces of nature. Winner of the 2009 Emily Carr University President’s Media Arts Award for “creativity, originality and taking risks,” the director, Su-An Ng, combines crumpled paper backgrounds with shadowy rotoscope and brilliantly sketched animal silhouettes. Her love of mountains and forests is apparent in a tactile setting that even includes mist. Of course there is a surprise ending. Not to be missed.

Moon and the Wolfgirl
Sarah Domogala, Netherlands, 2007
15 minutes, Short
Dutch with English subtitles
Moon is a ten year old girl who writes books about a world where children can transform into animals and where magic and dark secrets reign. She writes about Shadow, a girl who can transform into a wolf until Shadow, to her own dismay, eats her best friend.
