Planet in Focus will design a customized package of films on behalf of your organization based on your topics of interest, time line and budget. Here’s how it works:
- You can either tell us which films you want to screen or we can suggest films, based on your desired theme. Once you’ve narrowed it down, we will create up to 5 VHS screeners for you to watch and approve.
(please note that you will be required to pay postage/courier fees when we issues screeners.)
- You must have a venue in place with DVD equipment
- Next, confirm your dates (we require at least 4 weeks notice)
- If you intend to sell tickets, you will have to set a suitable ticket price (we suggest approximately $8 depending on your demographic and venue capacity)
As a Not-for-Profit organization, Planet in Focus does not seek financial gain from our Cross Canada Tour. However there are some basic fees that do apply to each exhibitor:
1) Artist Fee: Each time Planet in Focus screens a film we charge an artist fee which goes directly to the filmmaker. The artist fee breakdown is as follows:
2) If you sell tickets to the film screenings, we ask for 35% of ticket sales profits. This means that only once you have recouped your costs do we ask that you make a 35% donation to our charitable foundation and we will issue you a tax credit. Please note that under some circumstances, this percentage can be negotiated in the favour of the exhibitor. We want this to be profitable for you so please feel free to speak to us about any concerns you might have.
3) All shipping costs for pre-screeners and exhibition tapes will be covered by the exhibitor.
We wish to enable all Canadian communities to partake in our tour. Institutions and organizations that require resource or technical assistance please contact:
